End of the Year

By Lauren Fels

The Second Annual Doggies took place this past April. This was a wonderful way to close the school year. For all of those who do not watch The Office, The Doggies is a play off of the Dundies which is a time for all of the employees to receive awards from the past year. The Doggies were a way for everyone in CCM to receive an award from this past year as well. It is named ‘The Doggies’ after The Doggett Center. These were fun superlatives, and people were able to nominate awards for each other. Some of the awards included “Most iconic water bottle”, “Best jumpsuit collection” and “Most likely to be a Head & Shoulders model”. The theme for The Doggies this year was pajamas. Everyone came dressed in their best sleepwear to give and receive these awards. This was a fun way to reflect on the friendships and memories made this past year. There was also food provided, and it was a fun social event to close out the year. We had a great turn out for this event, and those who were not able to make it last minute were still given awards. CCM looks forward to the third annual Doggies next year!

At the end of April, CCM was able to close the 2018-2019 year out the same way it started; with a BBQ in Pullen Park. Thank you to the Knights of Columbus for working to provide food for everyone! This event took place right after Mass on Sunday. On Sunday, our seniors were honored at the end of Mass and given a blessing by Father Tighe. The end of the year get together in Pullen Park was a great way to say final goodbyes to the seniors. It was also a perfect opportunity to hang out with everyone one last time before the summer. Amy Arias- Cordova, a sophomore in CCM, said, “It was so fun to take time to hang out with friends, eat food, and celebrate being halfway done with college. The weather was perfect, and I got super cute pictures so it was definitely a day for the books!!” There was also cornhole spikeball, and frisbee to be played throughout the event.

And congratulations to all of our graduating seniors in the CCM community! Thank you so much for being with us and helping lead our ministry. May God be with you and don’t forget you always have us!
